Apply now for the International Conductors Guild Education Concert Conductor Workshop with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, Robert Franz, Music Director, being held Monday, March 18, 2024 through Wednesday, March 20, 2024 with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, Ontario, Canada.

Acclaimed conductor Robert Franz, recognized as “an outstanding musician with profound intelligence,” has held to three core principles throughout his career; a commitment to the highest artistic standards, to creating alliances and building bridges in each community he serves, and a dedication to being a strong force in music education. As Music Director of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts Symphony Orchestra, Artistic Director of the Boise Baroque Orchestra and as the former Associate Conductor of the Houston Symphony, he has achieved success through his focus on each of these values.

Franz just concluded his fourteen-year tenure as Associate Conductor of the Houston Symphony where he was recently honored with the Raphael Fliegel Award for Visionary Leadership.  It was presented to him in recognition of his immense success in advancing the organization’s education and community engagement activities.

NOTE!   If you are considering applying for Assistant Conductor positions with orchestras, this workshop is ideal for you! Today's Assistant Conductor positions include education concert creation and execution. The focus of this workshop is the creation, preparation, and live presentation of education programs. Each participating conductor will create and prepare an education concert and present it to local Windsor Symphony school as part of this workshop.

This workshop is also very appropriate for conductors who currently have education programs who may need a booster to help with new ideas and techniques, or anyone interested in learning more about the education concert process.

All applicants must apply via our Online Application Portal which includes a $75 application fee
