advancing the art and profession of conducting -

“This will be our reply to violence:
to make music more intensely,
more beautifully,
more devotedly than ever before.”

                           - Leonard Bernstein

The International Conductors Guild is devoted to the advancement of the art of conducting,
and to serving the artistic and professional needs of conductors.

We are a diverse community of orchestra, opera, band, choral, film-score,
ballet and wind ensemble conductors, of all ages, genders, and nationalities,
with more than 2,000 US and International members

Our Work -

              • we mentor,
              • we provide job search listings,
              • we gather for an annual conference,
              • we hold training workshops,
              • we meet with the leading music-makers of today,
              • we educate through reference and resource materials,
              • we research and write through Journal of the International Conductors Guild,
              • we collaborate, we perform, we create.

Most importantly, we provide support to conductors.

Our work is not possible without your generous financial support.

RECURRING DONATIONS

“To stop the flow of music would be like the stopping of time itself,
incredible and inconceivable.”

— Aaron Copland

Become a Recurring Donor

Nothing could be simpler or easier to do than becoming a recurring donor of the International Conductors Guild.  What is a recurring donor?  When a donor sets up a recurring donation, they choose to give a pre-determined amount of money on a regular basis. Many donors choose to give monthly, bi-monthly, or yearly, but they can give as frequently as they’d like and in any amount they like. Recurring donations take the weight off of a one-time donation that drains your checking account. If you're able to donate sums with a one-time donation, great. But perhaps a recurring donation is more doable in these troubling financial times.

For example:

I would like to donate $20.00 / month for one year starting January 1, 2024 and ending January 1, 2025.
I would like to pay with my VISA, Mastercard, or American Express credit card.
My total donation for 2024 will be: $240.00

It's that simple!  If you would like to become a Recurring Donor please contact our Executive Director, Jan Wilson at [email protected]  OR  (202) 643-4791 and she will be happy to help you.

**All Recurring and One-Time Donors will be listed in the annual Conference Program Booklet.
***The International Conductors Guild is a 501c(3) registered nonprofit with EIN:  13-3297028.

‡Donate toward a ICG programs such as our Symposia, workshops, conferences, and producing the Journal of the International Conductors Guild.

‡Donate to assist young conductors, or out-of-work conductors, with travel assistance
to attend ICG conducting workshops.

Or, specify your donation for the Annual General Operating Campaign
which provides funds for our operating expenses
- phone, software, supplies, accounting, staff, etc.
  • You may also support the International Conductors Guild through a Corporate Matching Gift
if your company participates with nonprofits.

  • Donate Sponsorships funds for workshops, symposia, conference, conductor chats.

  • Provide *Donor Advised Funds - we will be happy to speak with you to arrange this.

• Donor Advised Funds

Only the interest of the donation is used for specific purposes defined by the donor; this guarantees that the supported activity will continue year to year. In addition, it allows the donors’ name(s) to be connected with this sponsorship into perpetuity. Donor Advised Funds are usually given the name of the donor (e.g. the International Conductors Guild Fund), have a well-defined purpose (e.g. to support scholarships for conducting study at one of the International Conductors Guild sponsored Workshops for conductors over the age of 25) and are limited to a minimum amount before being operational (e.g. $10,000 to be fulfilled at $2,000/year for 5 years and which, after one year following maturity, produces 5% interest resulting in a scholarship of $500 per year).

• Planned Giving

What is a planned gift?  Planned gifts, or planned giving, are gifts that require planning either now, or in the future. The most common planned gift is the simple charitable bequest, or a gift in a donor’s will. Life insurance policies are also common planned gifts. Benefit from these types of gifts comes later for the charity, but planned giving are frequently some of the larger gifts charities receive. While a gift in a will is the most common type of planned gift, not all planned gifts are deferred.

Here are some examples of planned gifts that result in current,
rather than deferred, giving:

Gifts of appreciated stock or property: A gift of this type can help the donor to avoid capital gains tax and result in a charitable gift deduction. Please consult your tax counselor for advice.

Gifts from a Donor Advised Fund: If you have a donor advised fund, please consider designating the
International Conductors Guild for a grant.

Gifts from an IRA Rollover: This allows our older individuals to be able to donate money from their IRA accounts.

• Year-End Giving:
Year-end is a good time to consider certain types of planned giving. For example, many people who own stocks re-balance their portfolios toward the end of the year. While people tend to draft or update a will based on life events (i.e.: marriage, birth of child [or] grandchild, illness), some will choose to write or update a will toward the end of the year. As you make these long term financial decisions please consider giving to the International Conductors Guild
.
